Ultra Depth™ as an Evolving Framework within ICS

The origins of Ultra Depth™ can be traced to the mid-1960s,
when Walter Sichort first identified and explored unusually deep states
of relaxation and consciousness that extended beyond the conventional
hypnotic depth recognized at the time.
Building upon these early discoveries, James Ramey, a direct student
of Walter Sichort, later developed Ultra Depth™ into a standardized
and well-defined hypnotic process. The Ultra Depth™ Process represents
a precise procedural methodology for working with deep trance states
within structured clinical and educational contexts.
ICS acknowledges and respects this lineage, recognizing Walter Sichort’s
foundational discoveries and James Ramey’s lifelong dedication to refining,
preserving, and transmitting Ultra Depth™ as a formalized process.
ICS (Inner Communication with Self by PRESENCE) is an integrative framework
that supports conscious self-growth through presence-based inner communication,
guided by a balanced integration of third-generation hypnosis
and the path of Purification and Communication.
While the Ultra Depth™ Process is grounded in hypnotic principles,
the scope of states accessed through this work extends beyond
traditional definitions of hypnosis.
James Ramey described this broader perspective as “Relaxology”—
not as a separation from hypnosis, but as an expansion of its conceptual boundaries.
In this view, hypnosis remains the foundation, while deeper relaxation,
surrender-based states, and the depth of lived experience form
an integrated continuum rather than a single technical category.
In the context of Ultra Depth™, depth is not determined by the intensity
of presence or conscious attention, but by the degree of genuine letting go
and surrender through which experience is allowed to reorganize itself.
Within the ICS perspective, Ultra Depth™ is not defined by the mandatory
application of specific techniques. Rather, it refers to the conditions
under which purification, communication, or minimal intervention
may naturally unfold, depending on the emerging state of consciousness
and the intent of the subconscious itself.
Purification and communication, within ICS, are not confined to formal sessions
or altered states. They function as living guidelines expressed through
ongoing awareness, self-observation, and centering in everyday life.
Presence, purification, and communication exist in a reciprocal relationship,
each reinforcing and deepening the others over time.
Ultra Depth™ is not a prerequisite for this process.
However, when accessed, it can significantly intensify subconscious activation,
making these dynamics more visible, integrated, and transformative.
From this perspective, Ultra Depth™ is approached not merely as a fixed technique
or isolated method, but as a structured and evolving framework for inquiry,
education, and professional practice. The original standardized process
remains respected and intact, while its deeper implications are refined,
contextualized, and expanded within a broader integrative structure.
Within the ICS context, Ultra Depth™ is not treated as a closed system.
Rather, it functions as an evolving structural framework that supports
ongoing research, training, and applied work across multiple domains
of professional practice.
